Tokarski Family of Hnilice Wielkie
The Tokarski family owned the forest just north of Hnilice Wielkie. This picture is of my grandfather, Jan Tokarski, after World War II. There is not much of a family tree because most of our family was sent to Siberia by the Russians. My grandfather was released when Germany attacked Russia to fight against the Germans. He fought at DDAY, for the 1st Polish Armoured Division. At the end of the war he ended up in Scotland, then finally in Canada. He told me a bit about what happened when the Russians came and the camps in Siberia. So he was lucky that he finally made it Canada.
