January 9, 2011 Recently I hired a researcher in Ukraine, Mr. Vladimir Kreshchishin, to go to the Archives in Lviv and search the Roman Catholic metrical books for all records pertaining to the surname Walowy. These records -- 1816 to 1862 -- are not available on microfilm through the Family History Centers. Mr. Kreshchishin found many records for me, and photographed the entire page that these records appeared on. I have sent these pages to Mr. Jan Lukasiewicz, who has generously agreed to transcribe all information on these pages. Please remember .. I was not financially able to acquire all records from these metrical books .. so the information we have is far from complete. Still, I feel this information could be useful to anyone researching their ancestors in Stryjowka, Hrycowce and Kretowce.
